Committees  

There are a number of standing committees within the Professional Staff Association.  The Executive Board makes appointment of chairs and members for a minimum one-year term.  Standing committees are:  

The Executive Board oversees the functions of the Association.  All standing committees report to the board, and the president serves as chair.  Responsibilities include providing for the year-end audit of all receipts and records, preparation of budgets, approval of expenditures not included in the budget, agendas for business meetings, and consideration of suggestions or concerns submitted by the membership-at-large.  

 

Bylaws Committee

 

The Bylaws Committee is responsible for drafting recommended changes to the bylaws.

 

Charitable Committee

 

The Charitable Committee identifies special projects not budgeted.

 

Courtesy Committee

 

The Courtesy Committee informs the committee chair of any member who has been hospitalized, deaths in a member’s family, marriages, births, retirements, transfers, and/or promotions of any member.

 

Membership Committee

 

The Membership Committee greets new employees and informs them about PSA.

 

Nominating Committee

 

The Nominating Committee, consisting of four members appointed by the president, oversees annual receipt of nominations and balloting for annual election of officers.

 

Professional Development

 

The Professional Development Committee is responsible for coordinating and organizing professional development programs offered periodically to members.

 

Program Committee

 

The Program Committee assists the president and vice president with coordinating with the semiannual business meetings.

 

PSA Historian

 

The PSA Historian maintains a notebook on events held during the current year.

 

Public Relations & Newsletter

 

The Public Relations and Newsletter Committee is responsible for promoting the Association’s purpose, concepts and activities.  The committee also organizes and mails all newsletters with the assistance of officers.

 

Ways & Means Committee

The Ways and Means Committee organizes and coordinates fund-raising endeavors as approved by the Executive Board.
