ADVISEMENT HELP, IN PERSON AND ONLINE! Beginning September 22, 2006, Dr. Dixon will host an advising session every Friday at 2:00 pm in Room 425, Rogers-Stout Hall. If you have any questions about your curriculum, or just need advisement in general, this is the time to come!! The wide variety of degree and concentration programs offered by the ETSU Department of Psychology is unique and exciting, but can also be somewhat confusing. To help out, we have posted all the degree (B.A., B.S., & B.S.S.S.) and concentration (General, Behavioral Neuroscience, Child Psychological Science, Clinical Psychological Science, & Cognitive Science) check sheets on the undergraduate tab above, under the advisement link (http://www.etsu.edu/psychology/undergraduate.htm). BEFORE you schedule an appointment with a faculty member (those with less than 60 hours should be advised in the A.R.C. in the Culp Center), you should download a pre-advisement check sheet by clicking here. CURRENTLY, Dr. Dixon, Department Chairperson, is hosting advising sessions on Fridays at 2:00 in 425 of Rogers-Stout. Changes in that schedule are possible, but will be announced via email as soon as possible on Psych Talk, on which all Psychology Majors should be subscribed. You can be added to the list of subscribers at any time simply by emailing your request to the department chair (Wallace Dixon, dixonw@etsu.edu) or to the department executive aide (Jan Brown, brownje@etsu.edu). |
EXTRA CREDIT FOR RESEARCH PARTICIPATION: LOG ON The Department of Psychology is launching a research participant pool where students in classes offering extra credit can voluntarily participate in department-approved, ETSU IRB-approved, research studies. This offers an opportunity to see what psychological sciences are like from the point of view of a participant. We hope you'll find these experiences enlightening and give you pause to think about becoming involved in psychology research as a scientist. If your instructor offers extra credit for research participation, go to the "Request an account here" link at the bottom left-hand corner of the main web page at: http://etsu.sona-systems.com/ You will then get an email with login information, which you can change. Make sure to use your real student ID number and the email you check most often. Your ID number will not be displayed anywhere in the system, but will be used to report your extra credit to your instructor. Problems? Contact etsupsychresearch@sona-systems.com |

All psychology majors and minors are encouraged to join. Don't miss important information! You can be added to the list of subscribers at any time simply by emailing your request to the department chair (Wallace Dixon, dixonw@etsu.edu) or to the department executive aide (Jan Brown, brownje@etsu.edu). |
