Artist Bio

Anita DeAngelis

Anita has been a faculty member at ETSU since 1994. Her previous teaching positions included Concordia College, Moorhead, MN and East Texas State University, Commerce, TX. She received her MFA from Arizona State University (printmaking), her BFA from the University of Texas at Austin (studio art), and she is an alumna of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Skowhegan, ME. She teaches Drawing, Figure Drawing, Color Theory, 2-D Design, and Book Arts, and she served as the department’s Studio Foundations Coordinator for ten years. Anita serves as an Associate Dean for the College of Arts and Sciences, and she is the Interim Director of the Reece Museum. Her personal work includes drawing, hand-made books, printmaking, and letterpress printing. She has exhibited nationally, and her work may be found in the collections of Berea College, the University of Georgia, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, and Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris.
