Artist Bio

Michael Joslin

Michael Joslin grew up in the Southeast and received his Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of South Carolina in 1977.  Moving to the mountains of western North Carolina in 1983, he has studied, photographed, and written about the area ever since.  Joslin has been published in national magazines, area newspapers and is the author of five books. His most recent book, Highland Handcrafters:  Appalachian Craftspeople has been published by the Parkway Publishers in June 2005.
