Artist Bio

Witt Langstaff, Jr.

My love for the Roan Highlands goes back to the late 1950's.  I first visited these open mountains as a child growing up in Kingsport, TN, and through the years these mountain ridges have been some of my favorite hiking areas for their spectacular views and enchanting scenery.  I currently live part of the year on a farm in North Carolina along the eastern edge of the Roan Highlands. . . .Photography is now my primary means for exploring and appreciating this area. . . .  My hope is that my images not only make people more aware of the beauty and value of our natural world, but also inspire them to support efforts to protect special places like the Roan Highlands.”
