WIA

The goals of the WIA program  are for youth to: 1) graduate from high school and 2) go on to post-secondary education or vocational training  or to obtain full-time  employment.  New WIA participants will undergo a series of assessments.  Information garnered from the assessments is used to create an Individual Service Strategy (ISS) which will outline an appropriate combination of services. Based on the initial assessment, youth who are basic skills deficient will participate in tutoring and study skills training until they read, write and compute math at or above an eighth grade level.
