“For the Division of Health Sciences, ‘reaching higher' means raising the bar – aiming to achieve a new level of excellence in education, patient care, and research.  And once you reach that goal, you aim for a new one.

“ETSU is able to establish such ambitious goals and high standards because of the generosity of the people, just like you, who share our mission of being the best and are willing to make that happen.  Your support enables us to prepare the best health care professionals and scientists, to make new discoveries in sciences, and, most importantly, to save lives.”

Health Sciences—A Prescription for Progress
Ranked by U.S. News & World Report as seventh in the nation for rural medicine, the James H. Quillen College of Medicine is a shining example of the achievements of ETSU's health sciences initiatives. But, as impressive as it is, there's tremendous potential to reach higher. For example, the proposed College of Pharmacy offers both tremendous challenges and opportunities. While the College of Pharmacy will be a boon to both our students and the region, it comes with the stipulation that it be built without the use of state funds. As big a challenge as it is, it is a surmountable one thanks to both the indomitable spirit of East Tennesseans and the support of public-private partnerships.
