Students may not apply directly. Nominations will be received from high school principals, based on class size. Principals of eligible high school may nominate 1 or 2 students whom they determine best meet the selection criteria. A nomination package should be submitted by the candidate including:
The Roan Scholars Leadership Program nomination form to be completed by the high school principal, giving evidence of the leadership role the candidate has taken within the school and the community
A leadership resume noting offices held, community service activities, honors and awards, work experience, travel opportunities, and any other factors indicating individual success
Transcript of all high school work
ACT or SAT score report
Two references specifically addressing the candidate's leadership potential
Evidence of good character development, team-building skills, and physical activity contributing to healthy physical, mental, and social well-being
Student response to specific essay questions
Other information the student may deem pertinent to a review of an applicant's potential for leadership and service to the community
