SACS Steering Committee

Whereas the ETSU Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness Committee (SPC) provides conceptual guidance for our pilot project, the SACs Steering Committee (SC) provides operational guidance. The SC has 16 members who represent the major constituencies of the university community, including student and alumni representatives. The roles and responsibilities of the SC are to

• Serve as liaisons for the Compliance Audit Teamswith the SPC

• Provide assistance with audit needs and report preparations

• Review reports and provide feedback to working teams

• Monitor cross-standard compliance audit reports where content is similar

• Assist in communication of progress of the project across the campus community

• Approve report content and compliance judgments prior to forwarding to the SPC

• Contribute suggestions to the overall project, reports, and plans

• Review recommendations and suggestions for improvement gathered during the compliance audit process from the campus community and prepare a report

• Contribute suggestions to the Commission on the accreditation criteria and process
