East
Tennessee State University, with a student population of over
11,000, is located in Johnson
City, a community boasting nearly 60,000 citizens. Because
of its size and location, ETSU can offer the variety of programs
of a large university, but faculty and staff provide the personal
attention found in smaller schools. Each student is treated
as a valued individual and welcomed to the safe, "small
town" atmosphere of the campus.

ETSU
is not limited to a single campus, however. The
ETSU James H. Quillen College of Medicine enjoys the manicured
grounds of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Other vital
branches of the university are located throughout the surrounding
area, with the largest and oldest regional location, ETSU/University
of Tennessee at Kingsport, containing its own 28,000-volume
library. Other sites take education closer to home for many
students through the Marshall T. Nave Center in Elizabethton,
ETSU at Bristol, and ETSU at Greeneville.
The
university strives to provide attention to tradition while
offering modern facilities, opportunities for tranquility
along with the stimulation that can be gained only through
group involvement, and the sense of balance needed to foster
academic advancement.
