The East Tennessee State University SACS Accreditation
Review Project Web Site is divided into four sections:
Reference Room, Pilot Project, Compliance Audit, and
Quality Enhancement Plan. Choose one of the main
selections to view the information contained in each section.
Reference Room
: This section of our web site lists many of the major sources
of information used in our compliance audit. In Documents
, you will find links to major documents, sources, facts, and
figures about ETSU. The SACS Update section contains news,
messages, and progress reports. Of particular significance are
the links to three online database systems. In the University
Profile System you can learn about our university and it's various
offices and departments. All profiles present mission statements,
goals, improvements & accomplishments, and who to contact for
further information. Academic department profiles also include
learning outcomes and program coordinators for degree programs
offered, any special facilities available, and references to associated
student organizations. Links included on the profiles enable you
to access other web pages, e-mails, and associated offices or departments.
The Faculty Teaching Credentials System presents information
about the ETSU faculty, including their degrees and courses taught.
The Course Information System has information for over
3600 courses taught at ETSU last year, including general information,
topics, and expected learning outcomes for each course.
Pilot Project
: In this section, you will find information about the Accreditation
Review Project of the Commission on Colleges, Southern Association
of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and East Tennessee State University's
involvement as a pilot institution in this project. About ETSU
orients the viewer to our campus, faculty, programs, region,
and students. The Mountains to Know section included here
presents a global view of our institution. Assortments of links
are available to learn more about ETSU and its region. The various
leadership teams involved in the project and contact information
are presented.
Compliance Audit
: This section has four main parts. The SACS proposed (December
2000) core requirements and comprehensive standards are presented.
East Tennessee State University prepared reports for each of the
71 standards that include narrative responses and supporting documentation,
which one can access online. Information is supplied on how the
institution approached the compliance audit portion of the proposed
accreditation requirements.
