ETSU offers two exciting opportunities for students who live outside of TN!

1)

Border County Waiver

  • Border county waivers are available to students who live in certain counties bordering the northeast TN region.
  • Students who live in border counties pay the In-State tuition rate
  • These scholarships are available to residents of the following states/counties:
    • North Carolina : Ashe, Avery, Haywood, Madison, Mitchell, Watauga, and Yancey
    • Virginia : Grayson, Lee, Scott, Washington

George L. Carter Out of State Scholarships

  • Scholarships to students who are residents of other states that fall within 250 miles of ETSU.
  • The George L. Carter scholarships will award $15,000 per year for students taking 15 credit hours 
  • These Scholarships are available to residents of the states and counties indicated below
