George L. Carter Scholarships

  • Scholarship award is $15,000 per year when a student is enrolled in 15 credit hours or more per semester

  • Students who are participating in another program which assists with out-of-state tuition (including, but not limited to, Academic Common Market, Public Performance Scholarships, Honors-in-Discipline Scholarships, Graduate Assistantships or Tuition Scholarships) are not eligible

  • Scholarships are competitive

  • Must be a new student to ETSU - currently enrolled ETSU students are not eligible

  • Out-of-state students who live in counties within 250 miles of ETSU are eligible.  This includes a selection of counties from within the following nine states:


    Freshmen:

  • Minimum high school GPA of 3.0 AND
  • Minimum ACT composite of 22 or SAT score of 1020 (Math and Critical Reading only)
  • Not a TN resident
  • Scholarships are competitive

    • Transfers: 

 

  • Minimum transfer GPA of 3.2 AND
  • Minimum of 24 transferable hours
  • Not a TN resident
  • Scholarships are competitive

Graduate Students:

 

Scholarship awards at $14,000 per year for students enrolled in 12 credit hours.This amount is prorated for students enrolled in 11 hours or less

Graduate students will automatically be considered for the scholarship upon admission to a graduate degree program or graduate certificate program

 

Priority will be given to students who have been admitted by May 1 for fall term and September 1 for the spring term
