Stereolithographic ABS Fabricator

Supporting efforts in rapid prototyping and product development, the department's Stratasys Dimension BST Fused Deposition Modeler (FDM) 3D fabricator is capable of taking 3D CADD models and turning directly them into ABS plastic prototypes. The maximum model size is 8” by 8” by 12” with a resolution of 0.010 inches.

AXYZ Flat-bed CNC Router

One of several CNC machines available to support product development, the department has an AXYZ Automation CNC router table with a working area of 4' by 10' by 10" with an overall accuracy of 0.008 inches. The CNC router is connected to a networked PC running AutoCAD and ToolPath, the AXYZ, Inc. propritary Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) tool path generation software application. ToolPath is capable of generating both 2½D and 3D shapes.
