Language Skills HandbookYears ago, the faculty of the former College of Applied Science & Technology (CAST), in collaboration with faculty across the University, developed a Language Skills Handbook to provide students with a handy print reference for their papers and presentations. The booklet was ported to the web and is available in an on-line version. The handbook is divided into five basic sections: grammar and usage, written reports, oral presentations, plagiarism, and a listing of university resources.Departmental Equipment & FacilitiesOur industrial support has significantly increased with the recent acquisition of a stereolithographic ABS fabricator (a really cool 3D printer) and a gantry-style, 4'x8' operational bed CNC Router. We are also in the process of acquiring a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) for dimensional inspection and reverse engineering activities. For more information on the availability and shop rates of these and other types of equipment (i.e., CNC mills, design/build prototyping services, etc.), and policies for the outside use of departmental facilities, please visit the Departmental Equipment & Facilities web page or contact the department chair. |
Departmental Services |
| The ETSU Department of Technology & Geomatics offers a number of
services to the University, industrial and business concerns, and the general public.
Because of the nature of the various major program areas offered in the department,
most of the members of our faculty are not only experts wihin
their areas of speciality but can also participate and function effectively on multi-disclipinary
problem-solving teams. Our faculty serve as consultants in diverse areas ranging from international, transport category aircraft navigation and aircraft control systems, automotive quality assurance and reliability, entrepreneurship, stereolithography, robotics, coastline management, and remote climate sensor data collection, to interactive multimedia and 3D animations for gaming. One thing about working in this department: lunch conversations tend to be eclectic. |
