Major Campus Events / Major Semester Concerts SGA's Goo-Goo Dolls spring 2006 concert

What?

Each fall and spring semester the SGA puts on a major concert on campus. Although many know only of us as the sponsor of these concerts, this is not our primary purpose. We are not a programming body.

How?

So, how do you ask did we get in the business of putting on concerts? Over the course of about 3 and half years, the SGA realized there was a want and demand for such shows on campus. Over the years the SGA had helped finance many smaller shows, but never had been able to bring in more well known artists.

Enter the B.U.C. Fund

In the spring of 2005, a referendum was placed on the student ballot to increase the then, "606" or student activity feeto $20 per student per semester. The increase was only a small portion of the changes to the SGA's internal procedures. The new changes to our old "606" laws became known as the "B.U.C. Fund", or Better University Community Fund.
