James Batchelder has been a member of the ETSU family since July 2001. His initial position at ETSU was in the Bursar’s Office working as the Manager of Student Accounts – a position which was later expanded into the position of Assistant Bursar. In January 2008, James joined the staff of the Dean’s office of the newest college in the Division of Health Sciences, the College of Clinical & Rehabilitative Health Sciences, as the Assistant Dean of Fiscal Affairs. He is currently serving on the Staff Senate by appointment of the Dean. James is a member of the Executive Committee and is serving in the capacity of President. Past Staff Senate Standing Committees include: Staff Concerns Committee; and Chair, Liaison Committee.
Prior to beginning his career at ETSU, James worked as a goldsmith. He had worked in the jewelry business for 25 years culminating in owning a retail jewelry store. He departed from the jewelry industry in October 2000 making the decision to explore new opportunities which would utilize his formal education.
James currently holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with majors in Accounting and Business Administration as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from Milligan College. James is currently pursuing an Educational Doctorate in Educational Leadership at ETSU.
