Dr. Janet Keener has been a member of the East Tennessee State University family for more than 21 years. She received her Doctorate of Education, Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, from ETSU, December 2004. Janet defended her dissertation entitled, Internet-Based Courses: Observations of Faculty Developers/Teachers and Students with Disabilities at Four-Year Public Institutions in Tennessee. She holds a Masters of Business Administration, ETSU (1995); B.S., Computer and Information Services, ETSU (1988); and an Associate of Science, Computer Science, Roane State Community College, Harriman, TN (1986).
As a current member of Staff Senate her committee involvement includes serving as Chair of the Staff Concerns Committee, and is also an active member of the Picnic Committee. She serves on several University Committees, Councils and Boards: Centennial Steering Committee; Institutional Review Board (Campus); Parking & Traffic; and PC Standards Committees. Janet is a proud member of several honor societies including; Phi Kappa Phi Academic Honor Society; Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society; Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society; Upsilon Pi Epsilon Computer Science Honor Society; Gamma Beta Phi Service Honor Society; and Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society.
In 1995, Janet was honored to receive the Distinguished Staff
Award in EEOC – Category 3. Janet enjoys motorcycle
riding, reading, bird watching/feeding, and her dogs.
