Non-thesis
Capstone Project |
|
The Capstone Project course requires non-thesis students to develop
and to document a major piece of creative, research, or service-based
work, in order to synthesize their experiences and represent their
goals in the field. The distinction from the MA thesis is in the
flexibility of its format.
Topics may include:
- Repertoire development: creation of an extended storytelling
performance piece or a selection of pieces on a particular theme.
- Storytelling research: creation of an extended research paper
on a particular topic in traditional or contemporary storytelling.
- Presentation: organization and presentation of a storytelling
event or series of events in a particular community setting.
- Storytelling applications: a creative, research and/or service-based
project that integrates knowledge and practice in applications
of storytelling within education, health care, social work, psychology,
ministry, law, the humanities, or other related fields.
