Informal coaching
among
participants. Tellers may stay and engage in a session of peer
coaching. Each teller will state how much (or little) he/she would like
to be coached. Enrollees for credit are required to attend two of
the three peer coaching sessions, today, Tues. or Thurs., and
telling is required just once.

11:45 - 1:00 pm: Lunch
Lunch is on your own. Feel free to
carpool with others going to nearby eateries and get to know them
better during this social time. We ask that everyone please make your
lunch plans to insure your return to the meeting room by 12:50 so
the session will not be interrupted by late arrivers. Please keep in
mind the lunchtime traffic and the delays in getting served at most
eating establishments near the noon hour. Feel free to "brown-bag it"
and eat in the classroom if you wish.

pm: Afternoon session

4:00 - 5:45 pm:

Institute Leader a breather before concert). Tellers may stay and engage
in a session of peer coaching. Each teller will state how much (or
little) he/she would like to be coached.
5:45 - 7:00 pm:
Break and Dinner
(on your own) for participants.
Volunteers for helping with the concert should be at the auditorium by
6:45.
7:30 - 9:00 pm:

auditorium might be cool, so you dress accordingly.
Third day: Wednesday June 4

1:00- 6:30 pm: Open Afternoon

Participants may wish to attend the Teller-in-Residence Program at the
International Storytelling Center in Jonesborough at 2 pm with
Bil Lepp. A one hour discussion session with Bil will follow for those
enrolled in Contemporary Storytelling Styles. All Institute
attendees may attend.
Carpooling is encouraged. Tickets have
been pre-ordered.

Participants may wish to do a peer coaching
session this afternoon, instead of going to Jonesborough.
6:30 - 9 pm: LIGHT
PICNIC SUPPER and Evening PARTICIPANT Olio
at Joseph and Mitzi Sobol’s house, 211 E. Main St., Jonesborough (Food
will be provided.)
Directions provided and carpooling
encouraged.
Note 1:
Also, if anyone with kitchen
facilities and/or culinary talents would like to bring
an additional covered dish, please feel
free to do so. Immediately after the picnic, any voluntary clean-up help
will be welcomed. Would someone offer to bring any leftover desserts to
class the next morning? Dr. Sobol’s house is about 10 minutes from the
campus.
Note 2: You may
bring one guest.
Additional guests may join the evening's picnic and olio for
$5.00. Please let an Institute staff member know one day in advance.
Note 3:
The evening olio by the participants
will follow the picnic. (Please let the
Institute Director know as soon as
possible if you are interested in emceeing. A designated assistant
will have a sign-up sheet for the telling. Please sign up ONLY if
you have a story up to 10 minutes long (including
introductory/mindset material). Thank you for timing your story to
insure that it does not exceed this time limit.
