Buccaneer Outdoor Adventure Program

The Buccaneer Outdoor Adventure program is a unique outdoor experience for first time freshman at East Tennessee State University. The scenic Appalachian Mountains, as well as ETSU's campus, will be explored via fun outdoor activities led by Campus Recreation staff.  In addition to meeting new students and making connections prior to the beginning of the school year, program participants will have an opportunity for self-discovery, leadership development, and exploration of the great outdoors. There will be 3 trip dates offered, see below.

Trip Activities:

Types of activities may include: Team building and climbing at ETSU's Basler Challenge Course, Bicycle tour of campus, camping, day hikes, lake and river paddling and fun evening programming.  No previous experience is necessary; beginners will receive basic instruction for technical activities.

Fees and registration:

The cost of the Buccaneer Outdoor Adventure is $150 per person, which includes equipment, transportation*, accommodations, meals and activities.  Space is limited, and registration will be completed on a first come first served basis.  The full trip fee must be included with application in order to secure a spot.

*Initial transportation to campus and back home post-trip is not included.
