East Tennessee State University Campus Recreation is proud to be hosting the annual Tennessee Intramural-Recreational Sports Association conference on Thursday, January 30th and Friday, January 31st. The TIRSA conference will be an opportunity for professionals and students to grow and learn more about collegiate recreation and the professional recreational field.

    Dr. Dishner

    Dr. Nancy Dishner serves as Executive Vice President of the Niswonger Foundation in Greeneville, Tennessee. After 30 years of service in education, she retired as Vice Provost for Enrollment Services and Director of the Roan Scholars Leadership Program at East Tennessee State University. She was a tenured professor in the department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis. Prior to her position at ETSU, she was a public school teacher in Unicoi County.

Thursday, January 30

3:00-6:00pm: Registration at the CPA

CPA Facility Tour (on your own)

Afternoon Workout

3:15, 4:00 & 4:45pm: Campus Recreation – Outdoor Recreation facility tours

Sign up at registration table; space is limited. The tour will visit the new Campus Recreation Field Complex, Disc Golf Course, University Trail System (Primary Trail Head), and new Recreation Tennis Courts

6:30pm: Welcome Dinner in the Culp Center Ballroom

  • Conference kick-off session
  • Dinner and dessert
  • Storytelling session: Appalachian Folk Tales with ETSU Professor Delanna Reed

8-10pm: Conference Social

Poor Richard's Campus (for those 16 years and older) located at 825 West Walnut Street – ride the shuttle or walk over from the Culp Center.

CPA Social  - Open Climb at the Wall and informal games organized by Campus Rec student staff

Friday, January 31

6:00am: Early morning workout at the CPA (TIRSA Indoor Cycling class is at 6:30am; space is limited)

Breakfast: On your own

Culp Center Marketplace is offering a $3 All You Can Eat Breakfast for TIRSA attendees

7:30-8:00am: Registration (for those arriving Friday morning)

8:15am: Morning Welcome Session in the CPA featuring:
