Positions are available in five different areas and students are hired to perform as:
Some positions require certifications. Pay starts at $7.25/hour. Students who work for Campus Recreation enjoy a challenging work environment, flexible hours, and an opportunity to become involved and contribute on campus. This is captured in the Departments mission statement which states, in part, that Campus Recreation aims to create a marketable, meaningful work and leadership experience for all employees. Studies have indicated that students employed on campus are retained in school at a higher rate than those who work off campus or those who do not work at all.
Graduate Assistantships are also available. The Department has five GA positions that are assigned to the areas of Casual Care, Employee Wellness, Fitness Programs, Intramurals, and Sport Clubs. GAs receive a full-time tuition waiver and paid stipend over a nine-month (Aug 15 May 15) appointment. Summer employment opportunities may also be available.
