Orientation for summer entering students
will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. in the D.P.
Culp University Center Auditorium Lobby.

Important Notes of Interest
- ETSU requires entering students to
provide proof of two vaccinations for mumps, measles, and rubella administered
on or after the student's first birthday. Documentation is required before
students begin coursework. Feel free to bring documentation to orientation.
Exemption: Graduates from Tennessee high schools in 1999 or after or
students who attended a Tennessee elementary or secondary public schools after
July 1, 2001 are presumed to have both MMR doses and proof of immunization is not required.
- If you receive notification from the
Office of Admissions or the University Advisement Center that you need assessment,
follow those instructions. Students must make arrangements to complete this
requirement prior to attending orientation. Without necessary testing you
cannot register for classes. If you have questions about assessment, please
call the University Advisement Center at (423) 439-5244. If you wish to sign
up for a test date, please contact the University Testing Center at (423)
439-7842.
ACT or SAT scores less than three years old will be used to determine placement
in Developmental Studies Program (DSP) courses. Students who are 21 or older,
who do not have ACT or SAT scores less than three years old, are required
to take the COMPASS test.
Following a review of transfer credit, the COMPASS test may be required. Students
with high school deficiencies are required to take the COMPASS test in appropriate
areas.
- All students will have the opportunity
to have their University ID card made during check-in or after they complete
the advisement registration process.
- The offices of Financial Aid, Admissions,
and Housing will be open throughout the orientation program.
- ETSU requires all entering students
to print and sign the HepatitisB/Meningococcal
History Waiver form. You will have the opportunity to complete this form
at orientation or you can complete it in advance. Send the form to:

Failure to complete this form prior to the first day of classes will result
in an academic hold, which will prevent students from dropping/adding classes
or registering for the following term.
- The dress for orientation is casual.
You may want to bring a light jacket or sweater since the temperature varies
within the building.
