History Waiver form. You will have the opportunity to complete this form
at orientation or you can complete it in advance. Send the form to:

in an academic hold, which will prevent students from dropping/adding classes
or registering for the following term.
- The dress for orientation is casual.
You may want to bring a light jacket or sweater since the temperature varies
within the building.
Before Orientation
-
Be sure you have completed the application
process and have been admitted to the university. You can not register
for classes if you have not been admitted. For any questions concerning
your application for admission, call the Office of Admissions at (423)439-4213.
-
Make sure all transfer work has been
forwarded to the Office of Admissions in time to be analyzed. Your
transcript analysis will be returned to you if all transcripts are received
far enough in advance. Bring your transcript analysis with you to
orientation. The analysis will make advisement and registration an
easier process.
-
If you receive notification from the Office of Admissions or the University Advisement Center that you need assessment, follow those instructions. Students must make arrangements to complete this requirement prior to attending orientation. Without necessary testing you cannot register for classes. If you have questions about assessment, please call the University Advisement Center at (423) 439-5244. If you wish to sign up for a test date, please contact the University Testing Center at (423) 439-7842.
ACT or SAT scores less than three years old will be used to determine placement in Developmental Studies Program (DSP) courses. Students who are 21 or older, who do not have ACT or SAT scores less than three years old, are required to take the COMPASS test.
Following a review of transfer credit, the COMPASS test may be required. Students with high school deficiencies are required to take the COMPASS test in appropriate areas.
