Opportunities for Graduate Students ...
The Counseling Center at ETSU offers a training program for students in mental health graduate programs. It is designed to provide broad-based training for practicum or internship students who are seeking experience with direct delivery of mental health services. The practicum/internship program can be tailored to the specific needs of each student.
Our clients at the Counseling Center are undergraduate and graduate students at ETSU. Typical presenting issues include: anxiety and mood disorders, relationship/interpersonal problems, family concerns, phase of life/developmental problems, adjustment concerns, substance abuse problems, stress management concerns, and problems related to sexual assault.
The Counseling Center provides a full range of mental health services including individual, couples, and group counseling; career testing and counseling; personality assessment; crisis intervention; psychological consultation; and outreach programming to students and the university community. Trainees will be afforded opportunities for experience in all of these areas.
