Deaf Awareness Week 2004

Silent Bucs, along with Disability Services, is proud to announce Deaf Awareness Week 2004, which is being celebrated October 4th-9th.  Several events are being scheduled for this week and also later in the month in observance of Disability Awareness Month.  Disability Services would like to personally invite each of you to our events.  We hope that you will also consider giving extra credit to students who attend these events, which will add to the cultural diversity aspect of our university.  Below is a listing of the events planned.  Please contact me if you have any questions.  Thank you.

Silent Bucs Bake Sale & T-shirt sale – 10 am to 2 pm, Atrium, DP Culp Center

Audiology Screenings –9 am to 12 pm, Meeting Room 4A

Thursday October 7th

See-A-Song Sign Fest 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, Atrium, DP Culp Center

 

 

Friday October 8th

Deaf Culture Presentation , Mike Depew -- 1:00 pm to  2:00 pm, Forum, DP Culp Center

 

Thursday, October  14th    

Interpreted Performance during the play, The Brave and the Free, 7:30, VA Memorial Theatre, written & directed by Bobby Funk, Director of ETSU Theatre

 

Friday, October 15th

DAW Banquet—6:00 to 8:30 pm, Multi-Purpose Room, CPA.  Buffet, Keynote Speaker: Steve Farmer, Director of Student Living, Tennessee School for the Deaf.  Contact 439-8346 for reservations.  Deadline for reservations is Noon, Monday, October 11th.  Sorry, NO late registrations will be accepted at the door.
