In order to receive "reasonable accommodations" as set forth in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, students with disabilities must meet the following guidelines:

  • Be identified to the Disability Services' office

  • Provide current documentation of the disability that includes:

    1. Summary of vocational rehabilitation diagnostic testing;
    2. Diagnostic results from a private agency, medical doctor, clinical psychologist, or appropriate professional

This documentation will kept confidential and used for verification to provide continuity for the student and direction for the staff as the student progresses at ETSU.

Information provided to Disability Services has absolutely no effect on one's admission to ETSU or student status, once admitted.  However, students can be assured accommodations are provided only when Disability Services has been informed and a request has been made by the student.
