On this page, you will find more information about the position and the link to the online application. Reviewing all of the RA Information will help you submit a more professional application and be better prepared for the interview.

RAs are a critical part of our Housing and Residence Life community. They have the opportunity to impact the lives of their residents while gaining valuable leadership skills that transfer to any career. We invite you to consider our Residence Life program as part of your college experience. Browse through the information provided, talk to your current RAs and RDs, and think about how being an RA can make a difference to you, Residence Life, and ETSU.

 

Application Process and Timeline

Information sessions provide you with an opportunity to learn more about the RA position and what you can expect as a member of our team.  Sessions will be offered throughout fall 2017 in our residence halls and apartments, but we are also offering an online opportunity on Friday, October 20th, 2017 via Facebook Live!

2. Apply for the RA Position

RA applications are submitted online.  The application cannot be saved, therefore, you should review the questions and have all needed information before you get started.  For example, you will need dates, names, addresses, and contact information for previous employers and supervisors – along with email addresses and phone numbers for your personal references.  All questions must be completed in order to submit the application.  

You will also be asked to attach a copy of your unofficial transcript.  This is available to you from Goldlink.  You will need to save the document as a file on your computer and upload it to the application.

Once your application is received, we will begin verifying your information and contacting references.  Applicants will be contacted in early-February to schedule individual and group interviews.  

3. Attend RA Preview (RAP)

All candidates for the RA position are required to attend RA Preview (RAP) on Thursday, March 15th, 2018 from 7:00-8:30 pm in the D.P. Culp University Center (location TBA). At RA Preview, applicants will meet with an RA mentor who will spend time getting to know applicants, answering questions, and helping the group prepare for interviews.

4. Have an Individual Interview

Individual interviews will be held on Friday, March 16th in the Culp University Center. This is a 30-minute interview which can be scheduled between the hours of 9 am and 5:00 pm.

5. Have a Group Interview

Group interviews will take place on Saturday, March 17th, 2018 in the D.P. Culp University Center. Applicants only need to attend one block of group interviews (from either 8:30 am – 12:30 pm or from 1:30-5:30 pm).
