Basler Challenge Course
Recreational Climbing

 No experience or equipment needed.  Campus Recreation Adventure staff help you learn the basics of harnessing, knot tying, belaying and wall climbing.  FREE.

About the Facility:

One of the latest additions to East Tennessee State University's campus is the  Basler Challenge Course.  The Basler Challenge Course is made up of the Alpine Tower, the Carolina Climbing Tower, and 12 Low Elements.  The Towers each stand  50' high, and provide multi-climbing areas.

Alpine Tours Inc., out of North Carolina designed the Basler Challenge Course.  Alpine Towers Inc., have built many climbing facilities for Military, University and Recreation settings.

Low Elements: The Basler Challenge Course has 12 low elements, designed to develop teamwork and leadership skills.  The low elements will challenge all ages, and provide a fun atmosphere while meeting and working with new people. 

The Alpine Tower: The Alpine Tower stands 50' high, and provides multiple climbing challenges.  With individual and partnered activities, the Alpine Tower will challenge climbers of all abilities. 

The Carolina Climbing Tower: The Carolina Climbing Tower  stands 55'-60' high, with 18 different climbing routes.  The climbing routes range from beginner to advanced routes, to challenge all climbers.
