The Wayne G. Basler Center for Physical Activity is a 100,000 square foot facility that was built by and operates on student activity fees and is staffed by ETSU student workers. Opened as the Center for Physical Activity (CPA) in April 2002, the building was later renamed for Mr. Basler in October 2006. Mr. Basler has been a generous contributor to the ETSU as well as the campus recreation program over the years. The outdoor challenge course located adjacent to the recreation center was made possible by a donation from Mr. Basler.
