Spring Break 2008 -Florida Everglades

Several trips and events are offered each semester through the outdoor program. The Spring 2008 semester schedule is:

Ski Shuttle
Campus Recreation Outdoor Adventure team is offering a shuttle up to Beech Mtn. $5.00 fee. Hurry fast there are a limited amount of spots. A T.I.P.S class will be held 3 days before the trip to go over information and preparations. Shuttle will leave from the Basler Center at 4:30 on schedule dates.
Wednesday Nights

7pm-9pm

Kayak roll Practice
Campus Recreation Outdoor Adventure team offers a kayak roll practice on Wednesday nights at the Basler Center's pool from 7pm til 9pm. This class is for people wanting to practice kayaking. Everyone is welcomed.
Thur. Feb. 14th

7pm-8:30pm

Non-Credit Kayak Insturction
8 sessions plus a day trip on the Nolichucky. Classes will be every Thursday starting on February 14, 2008 from 7:00p.m. to 8:30p.m. Please pre-register at the equipment desk. There is also a $45 fee that will be due when you register. There are only 15 spots available for this class, so hurry fast.

Paddling and hiking. Cost: $40 and register at the BCPA Equipment Desk.

Canoe Camping
Wild and scenic New River, Ashe Co., NC Cost is $40 and register at the BCPA equipment desk.

6th Annual Basler Center Adventure Race
Three person teams compete in challenges that require physical exertion, problem solving and teamwork. Limited to 20 teams! Pre-register at the Basler Center equipment desk. A fee of $15 will be due before the race. The day of the race the fee will go up to $25. Pizza, Prizes, and more!
 
 
 

  The outdoor adventure program features the Basler Challenge Course, an indoor climbing wall, and a geographic location in the Southern Appalachians. The Climbing walls are open most afternoons for anyone who is interested in climbing or bouldering. Anyone is welcome to come out and participate from the beginner who wants to try something new to the expert who wants to stay in shape.
 
Recreational Climbing
  • No experience or equipment needed. 

  • Campus Rec's Adventure Staff will help you learn the basics of harnessing, knot tying, belaying and wall climbing. 

  • FREE With valid ETSU ID.
