Division of Student Affairs Staff

Dr. Joe H. Sherlin, Jr. Vice Provost and Dean of Students Executive officer of the Division for Student Affairs, reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and is a member of President's Council, Academic Council and Dean's Council; provides leadership for the Division; develops and approves Division policy and procedure, budgets, staff appointments, appeals, salaries, requisitions, and travel requests; evaluates services and provides leadership for strategic planning; Division liaison to campus and community constituents; serves on Tennessee Board of Regents Student Affairs Sub Council; Chairs the Technology Access Fee Committee, and Student Affairs Council; serves as a resource for students and student organizations.
Dr. Sally S. Lee Associate Vice President Assists with supervision and management of the Division; represents the Division on Administrative Technology Committee and Banner Student Team; has oversight responsibility for the Adult, Commuter and Transfer Services (ACTS), Career and Internship Services, and Student Publications; serves as Team Lead for the Advisement, Resources and Career Center (ARC); advises the Student Government Association (SGA) including the Better University Committee (BUC) and the Concert Fund; advisor to campus Relay for Life; conducts research on students and serves on multiple committees.
Jeff Howard Associate Dean of Students Provides administrative oversight for the Division of Student Affairs. Serves as the chief judicial officer, advises student judicial courts, and serves as a member of the University Judicial Board. Serves as the central office liaison for campus emergency response and serves on the campus Critical Incident Response Team. Serves as advisor for the Diversity Events Committee. Has oversight responsibility for First Year Programs.
Heather Levesque Director of First Year Programs Responsible for First Year Programs including New Student Orientation and Preview, and the Parent Pride newsletter. Advises the Preview and Orientation Leader Organization (POLO). Serves as the Division liaison to other offices and areas regarding first year students including ETSU 1000 and first year Living and Learning Communities.
Peggy Calkins Receptionist Provides administrative support to the Associate Dean of Students and First Year Programs.
Janice Gilbert Office Coordinator Provides administrative support for the Vice Provost and Dean of Students, assists in planning and preparation of Division's Assessment/Planning system, support for Technology Access Fee Committee, and support for the University Judicial System.
Theresa Marlow Office Coordinator Provides administrative support to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs; Director of Multicultural Affairs; Student Government Association; Student Affairs Council; ETSU Gospel Ensemble; and Black Affairs Association.
