The Office of Community Service Programs promotes, organizes and supports a variety of public service opportunities and civic engagement activities for the campus community and maintains a community service resource center for students interested and engaged in community service. Community Service Programs places special emphasis on community based education with rigorous student expectations for reflection, on expanding opportunities for students’ intellectual and social development through co-curricular opportunities and on a respect for cultural diversity and programming that enhances global awareness.
Our goal is to assist emerging citizen leaders in successfully building on the existing assets in communities and addressing issues of concern to communities with thoughtful, impactful approaches. The Office provides advisement and resources to student organizations engaged in community service, including Volunteer ETSU, Up ‘Til Dawn, and Alternative Spring Break.
