Approximately 25 first-year students will be members of this supportive, inclusive community sharing time and space with others who have similar passions and values. Participants of the LLC will not be required to live in any specific hall nor need to be pursuing a particular program of study.
Together participants will learn and explore social activism, social change and the historical/philosophical foundations of justice through specialized classes/workshops, speakers, field experiences and community service opportunities.
Students interested in joining the Leadership and Social Justice Living-Learning Community should anticipate dedicating 2-4 hours each week to the program.
Students interested in participation in the
LLC for the 2011-2012 must submit an application to the Office of
Community Service Programs no later than Friday, September 9,
2011. Priority consideration will be given to those whose
applications are received by Friday, September 2.
