ETSU Summer S.L.A.M. (
Student
Learning
And
More) is a five-week residential program beginning
in July of 2012 that provides incoming freshmen students the
opportunity to fulfill university and major course requirements
while being introduced to on-campus academic resources as well as
off-campus activities and communities.
Students receive a summer college orientation
experience and the opportunity to get a head start. They are able
to meet faculty and staff, become familiar with university culture,
receive academic advising and counseling, and build a supportive
community of friends.
Students can earn six credit hours by
taking two general education courses and will be expected to attend
various workshops that will focus on such topics as time
management, effective study habits, and successful test taking.
Instructors and tutors will be on-hand to guide and assist students
throughout the program and students will attend a campus
orientation where they can meet staff from a variety of offices
including academic advising, residential life, tutoring services,
financial aid, and student financial services.
Additional information will be available at a
later date.
