Myth:

A storage room upstairs in the Earnest House, on the left side, is where the spirit of Mrs. Ada Hornsby Earnest moves things around. You'll hear footsteps and shuffling of things from that room when no one is there-except Ada , of course. Once a dog was wildly barking at the door and abruptly stopped. Mrs. Earnest must have told him not to worry!
