Performance Funding
Statewide, the Tennessee Higher Education Commission coordinates the performance funding program. The program was initiated in 1979, making the 2010-2015 cycle the seventh in its history. Performance funding is designed “to stimulate missions” and to provide “an incentive for meritorious institutional performance” ( http://tennessee.gov/moa/strGrp_prefFund.shtml).
