CSCI 1100 Proficiency Testing
All students must demonstrate proficiency in Using Information Technology (UIT) during their first year or prior to accumulating 33 semester credits at ETSU. This requirement can be met by passing the UIT Proficiency Exam, the UIT Challenge Exam, or successfully completing CSCI 1100. This test covers Microsoft 2007 applications.
Proficiency Exam
You may ONLY take the proficiency test if you are enrolled under the 2004-2005 or newer catalog.
You may not take the proficiency test if you have taken the challenge exam.
You may only take the proficiency test one time.
There is no charge to take the proficiency test.
The proficiency test is Pass/Fail and provides no credit hours on your transcript.
You are encouraged to sign up for CSCI 1100 before taking the proficiency test to guarantee a time slot in the class of your choice. Should you pass the proficiency test, you can then drop the class.
