Director of the Honors Program

Charge:

Provide review and advice concerning design and implementation of all aspects of the Honors Program (including curriculum, admission and retention criteria, and cocurricular program features and support); assist in the recruitment for the Honors Program; propose and review institutional support and visibility for campus-wide honor societies; encourage academic departments to provide students the option of pursuing majors "with honors," and propose general features that would characterize a major "with honors," and propose type(s) of recognition for the student graduating "with honors" in a major; monitor and propose changes when warranted in institution-wide GPA criteria for graduating with University honors; provide review and advice concerning enhancement of the visibility of recruitment, programming, and recognition for the achievement of students with high academic ability.
