Here at the University Press, we create the layout for each printed piece on computers using professional layout programs. When we finish assembling the layout of a job, a special type of file is made called a postscript. This is simply a special file that contains all the information required by a printer to print it. If you have a file on your computer that you want us to print, you may need to download and install a 'virtual printer'. This printer behaves just like any other printer, except that it doesn't print to paper, but to a file. There are some advantages when you make a postscript on your computer and send it to us. For example, if you have used an unusual font, it will be 'embedded' in the postscript. These three files allow you to make a postscript for the University Press. winsteng.exe is a virtual printer installation program, agphoenix.ppd is the printer driver, and oemprint.inf is the windows printer information file.
Download all three of these files to get started
Download the virtual printer installer program (5.6 MB)
Download the Postscript Printer Driver (80 K)
Download the windows Printer Information file (4 K)
The following is a step by step guide to installing this virtual printer on your computer.

Press' for easier reference.

Select
no in this box and press next to finish the install.

To make a postscript from any program, select 'print' in the program and find a box marked 'print to file' and make sure it is checked. Also, make sure you are printing to the virtual printer you just installed. This option will be in different locations depending on which program you are using.
