University Marketing and Promotion is responsible for

     University Marketing and Promotion is committed to the goal of maintaining a high level of visibility and increasing a positive image for East Tennessee State University throughout the region it serves.  Various community outreach activities are extended to students, educators, businesses, industries, and civic and community organizations as well as governmental agencies.
     These activities and services provide accessibility to university activities, programs and support services.  The office is responsible for managing the university's licensing program, coordinating university recruitment publications, promotional materials, the Speakers Bureau, conducting surveys and market research, and creating long-range promotional strategies.
 

PROVISION OF OUTREACH ACTIVITIES

     Providing outreach activities throughout the community is a major function of University Marketing and Promotion.  These activities include:

PROMOTION OF UNIVERSITY TRADEMARKS

     The Office of Marketing and Promotion approves all designs, logos and university marks for licensing products, as well as for other uses.  All designs, logos and artwork incorporating the university name, logo or mascot created by businesses, organizations or university departments should be submitted to this office for approval prior to production.
 

DEVELOPMENT AND COORDINATION OF GRAPHIC DESIGN EXECUTION

     Assistance is provided in the development and coordination of graphic design and production on selected promotional publications.  Departments requesting this service should arrange an initial meeting to discuss the design need, cost and type of reproduction process with the Director.  This office develops the publication specifications upon receipt of an approved departmental requisition and submits it to Purchasing for securing bids.  Following award of the bid, design execution and production quality with the vendor are monitored through this office.

COORDINATION OF UNIVERSITY RECRUITMENT MATERIALS

     Increasing student enrollment is one of the greatest challenges facing any college or university.  The Office of Marketing and Promotion provides support to the recruitment efforts of the Admissions Office and the various colleges and schools at ETSU through creation of printed recruitment materials and assistance with the production of audiovisual presentations, as well as through various advertising media.
