     This section provides the wording for various statements to be used in university publications, news releases and more.

UNIVERSITY FACTS, STATISTICS AND REGIONAL INFORMATION

     The following three versions of university/regional information are provided for use by departments or offices that wish to include information about the university in their publications but who may not have pertinent or up-to-date facts at hand.  Departments are strongly encouraged to use the material given below.  It may be used verbatim if desired.  Basic facts and statistics about the university must be stated accurately.

AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT STATEMENT

     For the convenience of persons with disabilities, university departments holding events for the general public are required to include disability assistance notices on printed announcements, brochures and other forms of publications.  Examples of public events include concerts, plays, speaker forums, graduation ceremonies and sporting events.
     The following ADA statement must be used on all materials promoting a university event in order to meet legal guidelines under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  For more information on YOUR responsibilities in accommodating persons with disabilities, contact the ETSU Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator in the office for students with disabilities at 439-4841.

EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT

     This statement is to be used in catalogs, brochures and other publications as determined by the University Press or University Relations.

TENNESSEE BOARD OF REGENTS STATEMENT

     This statement identifies ETSU as a Tennessee Board of Regents institution and should be used in all publications.  It is not typically used in news releases, except those dealing with a TBR matter.
