Talk Shows

WCYB-TV in Bristol, WJHL-TV in Johnson City, and WKPT-TV in Kingsport all have talk shows.  The hosts of these shows are always in need of guests.  Likewise, with the rise in popularity of "talk radio," opportunities in that medium are numerous.  The morning show at WJCW is a good example.  If you have a topic to discuss that you think would be appropriate for a talk show, let us know and we can schedule an appearance for you.
 For the TV talk shows, bringing along props is often an effective technique.  When Debbie White was interviewed on WJHL about preparing for life in a residence hall, she brought along examples of items that students should bring with them from home and made up a list of these essentials, which we offered free to the public.  This extra touch added life to the interview and gave us an opportunity to offer another service to the public.

•   WKPT-AM 1400 -- "AM Tri-Cities" from 10-11 a.m. (Call 926-1919)
•   WETS-FM 89.5 NPR -- Various (Call ext. 6440)
•   WJCW-AM 910 -- "ETSU Voices" features individuals from the university discussing topics of interest to the general public and is hosted by Fred Sauceman, Director of University Relations (Call 439-4317); "Sound Off," which covers community, state and national issues, from 9-10 a.m.; and "Sports Talk"  from 3-5 p.m. (Call 477-1000)
•   WQUT-FM 101.5 -- Promotional shows with give-aways, appearances, etc., from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (Call 477-1000)
•   WXBQ-AM 980 -- "Quaintance and Company" from 8-11 a.m.  (Call 540-466-9200 during show)
