Born Janet Snavely in Elizabethton, Tenn., I lived there until my marriage. After many moves over a period of 18 years as the wife of a U.S. Marine, I moved back to Elizabethton. Two of my four children have attended ETSU and the third is planning to begin in the fall of this year.

My employment at the university began as a compositor at the University Press in 1986. Since August 1990, I have been manager of the University Press. My responsibilities involve meeting with university department representatives concerning their printing needs and supervising an outstanding staff of 10 to provide quality printing that reflects the pride we all have in East Tennessee State University.
