Juanita Gray, a coordinator in the University Advisement Center, was selected as a Human Resources Featured Employee for January 2008. According to the nominator, Gray is dedicated to students and can expect to be treated with the utmost respect, encouragement and honesty.

Amy Collins, a counselor with the Office of Financial Aid, was selected as a Human Resources Featured Employee for December 2007.

Mary “Murry” Andrews, a counselor with the Office of Financial Aid, was selected as a Human Resources Featured Employee for November 2007.

Sharon Chandler, executive aide in the Department of History, was selected as a Human Resources Featured Employee for August 2007.
Peggy McCurry, office coordinator in the University Advancement office, and Lisa Bell, counselor in the Office of Financial Aid, were selected as a Human Resources Featured Employee during July 2007.
Kathy Smith, legal assistant in the University Counsel office, and Robin English, lead cashier in the Comptroller's Office, were selected as Human Resources Featured Employees during June 2007.

Distinguished Staff Awards - May 18, 2007
Annually, outstanding staff at East Tennessee State University are honored by their peers through the Distinguished Staff Awards. Each award is accompanied by a $1,000 check, provided for this purpose by the ETSU Foundation, and each award winner receives a plaque from the Staff Senate acknowledging their achievement. This year four ETSU women received a Distinguished Staff Award.
Dr. Sally Lee, associate vice president for Student Affairs, won the Distinguished Staff Award in Category 1 - Executive, Administrative and Managerial.
Jamie Simmons, shipping and receiving clerk in Central Receiving, won the Distinguished Staff Award in Category 4 – Clerical and Secretarial.
Alma “Shirl” Davis, lead worker in custodial services in the Department of Facilities Management, won the Distinguished Staff Award in Category 7 – Service/Maintenance.
The Career Award, which recognizes long-time service to ETSU and excellence throughout the employee’s tenure, was awarded to Mary Alice Whiteside of custodial services in the Department of Facilities Management.
