Harriet Masters Named Director

=====Harriet P. Masters has been named Director of the East Tennessee State University Women's Resource Center. A life-long resident of the Tri-Cities, she brings 20 years of experience working at ETSU to her new position. Previous positions at ETSU include the Alumni Office, University Relations, Pirate Club and the Department of Family Medicine. Masters received her associate degree in Law Enforcement from ETSU in 1976 and later returned for a bachelor's in General Studies, which she completed in 1996. She has served as president for both the Staff Senate and Friends of the Reece Museum. We are looking forward to her leadership beginning in January.

WE ARE OPEN!

===== The Women's Resource Center has opened its doors for business! Conceptualized last year, the center became functional this August and is available to all students, faculty members, and staff of ETSU. The center provides a broad base of information concerning questions, topics, and interests that relate to women. Other services include referral help for campus and community services. The Women's Resource Center also brings events and activities to campus through co-sponsorships. These events relate to female issues such as breast cancer awareness, domestic violence, "Dressing for Success," and cardiovascular health.
=====ETSU Women's Resource Center is located in Basement Suite 2 of Panhellenic Hall. Fall semester hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Spring hours will be Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. If you need to reach the center by phone, please call 439-7847. You may also e-mail the center at wrcetsu@preferred.com.

The topics included Domestic Violence and Assault, Breast/Cervical Cancer Awareness and Cardiovascular Disease Prevention.
