Some special features of this site include a subscription daily email news service, a chat room for live discussions of environmental issues, an online store, and a feature called Envirolibrary, which has an excellent search function with web-wide links to environmental topics.
This site is an online newspaper with up-to-date news on environmental issues worldwide. Interesting features include the ENN daily news; interactive features such as a live chat room and forums, and a radio webcast.
PlanetDiary, part of Prentice-Hall's school site, records the events and phenomena that affect Earth and its residents. Every week, this site presents geological, astronomical, meteorological, biological, and environmental news from around the globe. One particularly interesting feature is "Current Phenomena," which features weekly articles about natural phenomena and environmental events around the world when you click your place of interest on the world map icon.
Southern Appalachian Man & the Biosphere Program
According to SAMAB, a site maintained by the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, this site "promotes environmental health, sustainable economic use, and cultural values across the Southern Appalachians. Solutions for critical regional issues will be achieved through multiple collaborations, information gathering and sharing, integrated assessments, and demonstration projects."
