Summer 2020 Renaissance Teen Camp

RENAISSANCE CAMPS ARE CANCELLED for Summer 2020 due to the COVID-19. Please watch for information about virtual programs we hope to offer.

Rising 7th grade and up; must be 12 or older.

Cost: $185 per week. Discounts for ETSU employees and multi-camp sign-up.

 

Special Online Teen Digital Media Camp!

Cost:  $100

Campers will be creating matte paintings within photoshop and then animating those images in Adobe After Effects. We will look at design elements, how to source images, and how to optimize them for posting online to places like Youtube and Instagram. Campers will also learn how to use Autodesk Maya basics and will get to play with and animate a simple provided rig. Campers will also learn the principles of animation to help them on their animating journey.

June 15-19:  Teen Investigation and Forensics

Teen Investigation and Forensics:  The Art of Solving a Crime!

What do blood splatter, fingerprinting, and gun-shot residue have in common? Elements of a crime scene!  Join campers to find clues at a mock crime scene!  Learn methods and analyze facts.  Field trip to an Escape Room where campers must solve clues to get out.  Swimming each afternoon, except for field trip day.

July 6-10 Teen Chemistry Camp:  Beakers and Tongs!

Do you remember the elements chart?  This is the best way to remember, by combining the elements in beakers, and seeing the compounds react! 

Session Four - July 13-17th - Cancelled

July 13-17: Teen Robotics Camp 

Campers will work with Instructor Kailee Amburgey to use LEGO MINDSTORM to program a robot.  Kailee has been working with robotics groups and took her group to the World Robotics championship this past spring.  Campers will also build and launch their own hydro rocket and design roller coasters. They will take a field trip to visit Oak Ridge Museum Oak Ridge, TN.

Session Six- July 27-31st - Cancelled

July 27-31: Teen Digital Media Camp

Marty Henley will lead campers in digital sculpting using ZBrush.  Campers will learn about digital media and 3d model creation techniques.  This process has many applications including 3D printing, prototyping, and game assets.  Students will assemble their effects clips as a digital presentation for Media parents on the last day!
