Why did I choose ETSU?
I chose ETSU because it felt like a home away from home. Being a first-generation college student is stressful, but ETSU faculty and staff has made it easier by assisting me in anything I need including answering questions, walking me through financial aid assistance, and being a support system away from my family. Also, the size of the university and the classrooms helped me choose ETSU. The professors are hands on, and are here to encourage me and other students and help us through hard times. Another reason I love ETSU is because ETSU did not treat me as a number, they treat me as a part of their family. ETSU is an outstanding campus and I feel at peace with my decision on pursuing my higher education degree here at East Tennessee State University.
What would you want a prospective student to know before coming on a tour with you?
I want all prospective student to know that myself and ETSU staff are here to answer all the questions and concerns you may need answered. If I do not know the answer to your question, I can connect you to several faculty and staff around campus that can answer your question. I know coming to college is a vast transition, so please do not be shy in asking for help, because we are here to help you succeed so you can achieve your American Dream.
What is your favorite study spot on campus?
My favorite study spot on campus is the ETSU Student Culp Center, Sherod Library, and my residence hall. I also love to attend my weekly tutoring sessions with TRIO, also known as Student Support Services. The TRIO office is another place where I can decompress and work on my assignments. ETSU has great studying places around campus and you will find the perfect spot if you attend college here at our university.
